Manaksia today is a widely recognized and accepted brand in the metal packaging scene of India. Founded as a single ROPP closure-manufacturing unit at Howrah, near Kolkata, India, in 1972, Manaksia is now the largest manufacturer of closures and caps in Asia.
Major products manufactured by the company include roll on pilfer proof (ROPP) closures for the premium liquor and pharmaceutical sectors, crown closures for the aerated water sector, plastic closures for the mineral water sector and metal containers for shoe polishes and tea. The company has diversified into the contract manufacture of mosquito repellent roils for Reckitt Benckiser, Jyothy Laboratories and Eveready and liquid insect repellent vaporizers leveraging on its engineering skills and relationship strengths.
The Company has also ventured into basic metal processing and has set up facilities for the manufacture of value added steel and aluminum products and non ferrous alloy ingots.
The company has sixteen manufacturing facilities spread over six states of India for the manufacture of its various products. Additionally, Manaksia has marketing and technical servicing offices at all major metro cities of India and also in the state capitals where the company has manufacturing facilities.
The Company has a subsidiary in Lagos, Nigeria named MINL Limited, for the manufacture of aluminum closures and crown closures, catering to the liquor, pharmaceutical, beverage and soft drinks sectors in the West African markets. The Nigerian subsidiary has also diversified into the manufacture of value added metal products like special alloy castings; steel color coated and galvanized coils. This is in addition to manufacturing facilities that the Company has set up at Ghana through another subsidiary Dynatech Industries Ghana Limited, for manufacture of steel roofing sheets. A third manufacturing subsidiary is being set up at Georgia, CIS for manufacture of steel long products. The Company also has a subsidiary at Dubai for international trading and marketing operations.
