Almost 100 participants and official guests took part in the First Indo-German conference on technology trends and developments in packaging printing on 3rd December 2009 in Mumbai. The conference was jointly organised by Graphic Arts Technology and Education (Mumbai, India) and the Institute for Print and Media Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology (Chemnitz, Germany) under the auspicious Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany. The conference witnessed a well distributed audience within the packaging supply chain starting from the scientists, manufacturers of machinery and materials, end-users and the press. The event was supported by Indian Institute of Packaging, Bombay Master Printers Association, Printech, Screen Printers Association of India, Mumbai Mudrak Sangh, Screen Printing and Graphic Association of India, All India Printing Ink Printing Manufactures Association Ltd, Western India Corrugated Box Manufactures Association
Speakers from the Indian and German industry presented their ideas on respective expertise on the challenges today in the printing industry in general and especially for the essential changes in packaging printing for a successful and sustainable future. “The next conference on technology trends and developments in packaging printing will be organised in December 2010,” informed Paritosh Prayagi from Institute for Print and Media Technology at Chemnitz University of Tehcnology (pmTUC), Germany.
