Automation 4 Packaging - The Technology Forum

For efficient, effective and sustainable business processes

As automation acquires an important role in improving supply chain efficiencies, it also gains a significant position in packaging especially in industries like Food, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, Personal Care etc. Print-Packaging.Com Pvt. Ltd., in association with Automation Industry Association (AIA) presents ‘Automation 4 Packaging – The Technology Forum’ - a workshop on automation technologies that improve packaging efficiency, flexibility and reliability. The conference aimed to address issues relating to automation for the packaging industry is scheduled on 8 July 2009 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Moving away from traditional packaging education programs that concentrate on package design and packaging materials, Automation4Packaging will focus more on technologies that support packaging machinery. The workshop will address needs of packaging machinery designers, production engineering, maintenance, operations, safety and quality personnel. Drawing on the recent innovations in packaging automation, motion & process controls, vision systems, HMT and data exchange protocols, the forum is set to help build further competencies in the years to come.

Topics in the first session include Automating The Form, Fill, Measure, Weigh & Seal Operations, with focus on technologies like servo drives, PLC, HMI, flowmeters, pressure transmitters, controllers and presence sensors. The second session will cover ‘Automated & Robotic Pick And Place, Inspection, Track & Trace Systems’ with focus on robots, sensors, variable speed controls, vision systems, RFID and barcode.

The forum would be useful for individuals who use, specify and integrate packaging machines and processes or are involved in up-gradation and new investments across segments like food, pharmaceuticals, personal care, retail and logistics, packaging machine builders or OEMs and professionals who want to learn more about the latest automated packaging technologies. “The seminar would guide attendees on how automation is moving beyond merely reducing cost and increasing productivity to broader issues, such as increasing quality and flexibility in the manufacturing process and improving supply chain efficiencies,” says Anil Arora on behalf of Print-Packaging.Com.
