Sanjay Bhatia, MD, Hindustan Tin Works was elected the Chairman of Indian Institute of Packaging at the Governing Body Meeting of the institute held recently at Mumbai. He succeeded Bodi Singh Kampani of Akar Laminators.

Diwakar Shetty, CMD, Fibre Foils Ltd and J. R. Shah, Director Jayvee Org Polymers Pvt. Ltd. were elected as Vice Chairmen of the Institute.

Earlier in the day, the 43rd Annual General Meeting of IIP was held to discuss the financial results and annual report of the institute. Elections to the General body were also held. Tarun Daga, The Tinpllate Co. India Ltd., Sanjay Bhatia, Hindustan Tin Works Ltd., Tahir Hasan, Allahabad Dairy, P Dasgupta, Hindustan Unilever Ltd.and RVS Ramakrishna, ITW India Ltd. were elected unopposed from their respective groups. Vinay Saran, Hindustan National Glass & Industries Ltd., Rajiv Khemka, KCL Ltd., Harish Madan, Shivam Paper Convertors and Soumya Chakroborty, Marico Industries were elected on receiving floor nominations for the unrepresented industry groups.
