Payper Installs Five Bagging Lines In India

Xavier Vilimelis, Sales Manager, Payper considers India to be a very attractive country following a constant growth rate.




Since 1973 Payper, the Spanish company dealing in bagging technology, is in constant technological development which has allowed the company enter into more demanding markets. For geographical reasons the company started its export business in Central Europe and over the years has expanded the horizons to Latin America and Asia. Xavier Vilimelis, Sales Manager, Payper briefs us on the company\'s Indian initiatives...

Tell us about the Indian initiatives of Payper. What are the products and what industry segments are covered by Payper in India?
In 2007 Payper carried out some projects for the Indian companies - United Phosphorous Ltd and Libra Techcon Engineering. These projects were successfully achieved during 2008. Further we were given an opportunity to participate in a project for a client in the petrochemical sector last year. This was the presentation of Payper into Petrochemical sector and from there on we received more requests for projects in the same sector. For this reason Payper activity focuses now in meeting the requirements of the petrochemical industry. Moreover Payper has a wide range of machinery that allows us supply in areas of food, feed, chemical and construction industries.

Brief us on the automatic bagging lines installed in India. Which are the companies that have installed them?
Payper’s clients in India come from Petrochemical sector, including companies like HMEL (HPCL – MITTAL Energy Ltd.) and GAIL (India) Ltd. Nowadays the bulk products from these companies (especially polypropylene and polyethylene) are packed into PE woven bags. As Payper has a large experience manufacturing this kind of bagging machines, working with these products and bags, we offer an accurate technical solution with very competitive prices. Nowadays Payper is immersed in other projects with a view to install more bagging machines during 2010.

Do you think Indian bulk packaging industry lacks behind in adopting new technology?
It seems clear that in a country that is constantly changing, the packaging is also growing at a brisk rate. So technologies must be updated according to the growth and market demand. India is at a development stage.

What are the upcoming products and plans of Payper?
Payper, with experience of more than 3,000 references, has a very wide range of machinery that meets bagging requirement in India. Our next step is the consolidation of Payper in India through partnership with a local company that will allow us improve customer service.
