PackPlus Upholds Old Records @ New Venue

Having laid to rest all the apprehensions about having the exhibition at the new venue, PackPlus 2012 closed on a positive note recording a footfall of 5213 visitors. Disregarding the cold weather and supposed distance, the focused visitors arrived from all parts of the country to witness the large gamut of machines from packaging, converting, processing and supply chain zone, all under one roof.

With 200+ exhibitors, 50+ product launches, 100+ running machines and several other attractions, the Show gave a global business platform to the industry.

“PackPlus holds the reputation of organizing quality Show. The quantity of visitors has never been a concern for us. The Show gave us focused customers who knew what they were looking for. We got serious enquiries for our solutions and thus we met our objectives,” said Hemant Desai from Quadtech, an exhibitor at the Show.

Kody Equipment, a customary exhibitor at PackPlus, retaining its legacy in attaining the best of the business at the Show, received six orders for its slitter-rewinder machine on the third day of the exhibition. “And on the last day, before the pack up, we finalized one more deal,” said an enthusiastic Lavkush Shukla from Kody Equipments.

ACG PAM Pharma showcasing FPC5, a high-speed wrapping machine for products in fine seal packing, in collaboration with Theegarten-Pactec, got good response from the visitors. “We received several queries and got to know more about the industry demands,” said Abhijit Bhattacharya, Head-Sales from ACG PAM Pharma Technologies (P) Ltd.

Bosch exhibited its vertical form filling and sealing machine at PackPlus 2012. Friedbert Klefenz, President-Packaging Technology, Bosch arrived all the way from Germany to attend the exhibition. “India is full of opportunities and we at Bosch plan to serve the industry with advanced packaging solutions at best rates,” he said. “We are associated with PackPlus since last many years and have used the platform to showcase new developments at Bosch,” said Ashok Gourish, Business Head-Packaging Technology Division, Bosch.

Superpack Packaging Machines (P) Ltd. offered its powder filling machine and liquid filling machines at PackPlus. “The exhibitions like PackPlus help us in having one to one interaction with our clients. The live demo of machines help them understand the process and benefits of a machine,” said Adhikar Jaitly from Superpack Packaging Machines.

Bubber Machine Tools showcased its fully automatic round can seaming machine, semi-automatic round can seaming machine and semi-automatic non-round (universal) can seaming machine at PackPlus. The company received an order for the automatic line from Royal Metal Industries, Patna.

Rohit Chawla, General Manager, Rohit Instruments & Testing Services did not find many visitors on the first day of the exhibition. “But the second and the third day kept me busy,” he said. “It is always beneficial to showcase your machines in an exhibition like PackPlus as it does not only give an exposure, but also help the customers see and decide if this is the solution they are looking for,” he added.

“PackPlus has always attained attention from the packaging industry. This is the place where one can explore the latest developments, upcoming demands and future prospects of the industry. We have arrived all the way from Bangalore to visit the Show and explore innovations in filling machines,” said Ravi Raj, Managing Director, Pridemac Machines, a visitor to the Show.

The International Packaging Conclave organized on the second day of PackPlus at Radisson Blu, Greater Noida received a good response with 110 attendees arriving from all parts of the country. Starting with the key note address by Prof. Ramani Narayan, Distinguished Professor, Michigan State University, the Conclave proceeded towards the first panel discussion on 'Packaging Solutions: Benefits of Integration & Collaboration across the Value Chain.' The second panel discussion delved deep in automation highlighting 'Future Demands on Automation for Packaging- to which Open Technology is the Answer'. The third and the final panel discussion focused on 'Sustainability- the Future Imperative: Approached & Case Studies'. Concluding with the roundup by Mahendra N Patel, Chairman, Mamata Machinery, the Conclave summed up to big success.

“The conclave was not only interesting but also thought provoking. The attendees having varied and rich experience from various organizations assembled at one place creating an interactive knowledge platform. All the three sessions were of pivotal importance and relevant to the current scenario,” said R. Chandi Prasad, Packaging Development, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.

“The successful closing of the 2012 edition of PackPlus with an overwhelming response at the Conclave has made us more enthusiastic towards our next venture. The PackPlus team is now gearing up for its 2013 South edition. PackPlus South scheduled from 5-8 July 2013 at Hitex Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad will come together with CorruPack 2013 to be held in association with Andhra Pradesh Corrugated Box Manufacturing Association (APCMA),” said Neetu Arora, Director, Print-Packaging.Com (P) Ltd., the organizers of the Show.
